Trade Services

The Chamber's unique Export Documentation service is an important asset to Kurdish-British trade. With our extensive experience, we are ideally positioned to assist exporters entering the substantial and sophisticated Kurdish market, encompassing all your certification and legalisation needs.

It is essential, when exporting to Kurdistan, to present the correct documentation. Errors are very expensive, leading to costly delays in payment and in clearing the goods, and even leading to non-payment.

The local regional government of Kurdistan have entrusted the Kurdish-British Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the task of standardising and co-ordinating the preparation and submission of commercial documents, for the export of goods from the UK. to Kurdistan.

The Kurdish-British Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the collaboration of the Simpler Trade Procedures Board (SITPRO), has designed a unique, bilingual (English/Kurdish) Certificate of Origin. The Kurdish-British Certificate of Origin conforms to international regulations and is accepted by all governments concerned. If you wish to see a specimen of the three-part Certificate of Origin, Contact Us.

To ensure the swift processing of documentation, the Chamber has established a nation-wide network consisting of leading British Chambers of Commerce. These Chambers act as our Agents who liaise with smaller British Chambers, who in turn act as their Sub-Agents. The main duty of our Agent Chambers is to verify documents prior to certification by the Kurdish- British Chamber.

The Chamber enjoys close links with the Iraqi Embassy in London. When Embassy requirements are amended, they are relayed to the Kurdish-British Chamber immediately. For updates in Embassy requirements, please refer to the Exporters News Section. The Chamber's close links with the Iraqi Embassies facilitates speedy processing of your documentation. Also, upon request, we can facilitate legalisation of commercial documents by consular sections of the Iraqi Embassy.
